When I showed up to Gold’s Gym in NYC I had one goal in mind: get back in shape. I was 50 pounds overweight. When choosing a trainer my first thought was which of these guys looks how I want to, and Jeff looked like he stepped out of Men’s Health magazine. (Come to learn he’s modeled for them, so there you go.) Once we got started, I was impressed with Jeff sitting down to discuss my goals, my diet, how were things, and how did we want them to be moving forward. I didn’t feel like one of many clients. My personal trainer seemed, well, personal. The workouts were varied and fun. Nothing felt redundant.
Jeff is personable, knowledgeable, and clearly very passionate about fitness, which was contagious. I saw results, and when I hit a plateau Jeff talked me through it, guaranteeing results if I hung in there and he was right every time. As someone who's only experience with a gym membership included little more than cardio and a few stretches before heading home, I didn't believe that a trainer would really be able to help me until I had worked my way up to it. As a young girl, new to the city and hesitant to ask for help, Jeff was approachable, kind, and supportive each step of the way. He took the time to listen to my concerns and help me set realistic goals. Instead of just giving me some exercises and counting the sets and reps, he took the time to show me how to correct my form during targeted exercises, learn how to use the machines properly, and keep my sessions fresh and effective.
